Paris - Bonhams Cornette de Saint Cyr announces Chloé X Karl Lagerfeld: A Wardrobe from 1974 to 1984 a groundbreaking single-owner collection taking place online on bonhams.com from 26 June to 9 July 2025. The sale includes 80-lots celebrating the creative genius of Karl Lagerfeld during his seminal years at Chloé, with meticulously selected prêt-à-porter pieces from the designer's most influential early period with the iconic French fashion house (1963-1983) before his tenure at Chanel, this is the first time the collection will be sold at auction. Founded in 1952, Chloé sought to offer luxury prêt-à-porter that was a new concept at the time, the luxury fashion house today is widely recognised for its bohemian aesthetic. The 150-lot online sale will also offer exceptional Haute Couture dating from the 20th century including designs from Yves Saint Laurent, Guy Laroche, Louis Feraud, Hervé Léger, Emanuel Ungaro and Pierre Balmain.

Leading the sale is a Chloé, Prêt-à-Porter collection, Spring-Summer 1984, embroidered ivory silk evening dress by artistic director Karl Lagerfeld. The antique-inspired dress with round neckline, half sleeves and drapery effect with gold sequins, was from Karl Lagerfeld's last collection for Chloé in 1983, before he left for Chanel. The dress is offered with an estimate of €1,200-1,500.

Another notable lot is a Chloé, Prêt-à-Porter collection, Spring-Summer 1984, embroidered ivory crepe dress by artistic director Karl Lagerfeld. The dress features a neckline tied by two panels, three-quarter length sleeves, with the body of the dress entirely embroidered with waves and dolphins in sequins. The dress comes from Karl Lagerfeld's final collection for Chloé in 1983 and is offered with an estimate of €1,000-1,500.

Hubert Felbacq, Director of the Fashion and Accessories department at Bonhams Cornette de Saint Cyr in Paris, commented: "This auction is an homage to Karl Lagerfeld with an exemplary collection of designs from his early years at Chloé presented alongside groundbreaking looks from his final Spring-Summer 1984 Chloé collection. The sale spans over a decade of Lagerfeld's visionary design work, capturing a transformative era in fashion history. Under the creative direction of Karl Lagerfeld, Chloé entered a golden era, pushing the boundaries of prêt-à-porter with bold, narrative-driven collections. From ethereal gowns and romantic silhouettes to bold, surrealist prints, these garments exemplify Lagerfeld's unparalleled ability to blend elegance with innovation.
