Exquisite Single-Owner Collection of Chaumet Jewellery Highlights Bonhams Paris Jewels Sale

Paris – Bonhams Cornette de Saint Cyr will present Paris Jewels on 24 April. The live sale features a single-owner collection of striking Chaumet jewels featuring designs across the decades from Art Deco to the 1970s, presented alongside exquisite jewellery of diamonds, coloured diamonds and coloured gemstones including emeralds, rubies and sapphires from notable houses including Cartier, Boucheron, Buccelatti, Graff and Van Cleef & Arpels.

Marine Girardet, Bonhams Head of Jewellery, France, commented: "Paris Jewels includes a delightful selection of Chaumet originating from asingle-owner collection featuring designs spanning the decades from an exceptional Art Deco diamond and ruby bracelet to 1970s stylised malachite and lapis lazuli designs. Ahead of the sale, Bonhams will host an event with Violaine Bigot, Head of Heritage Jewellery Collection of Chaumet on the 14 April to discuss Chaumet designs from 1950-1970. The sale also has highly sought-after pieces of jewellery including apair of Graff fancy coloured diamond earrings and a striking sapphire ring weighing 21.03 carats."

Leading the Chaumet collection is a Chaumet Art Deco ruby and diamond bracelet, of geometric design, composed of a series of articulated rectangular shaped links set throughout with single-cut diamonds alternating with motifs set with calibré-cut rubies.

The bracelet is offered with an estimate of €8,000-12,000. Other notable Chaumet lots include:

• A Chaumet large hand mirror in coral, chrysoprase, aventurine and 18K gold, circa 1965. The mirror comes with abespoke Chaumet box and is offered with an estimate of €5,000-7,000.

• Asmall Chaumet coral hand face mirror, circa 1965. One side in white gold, the other in yellow gold featuring textured yellow gold detailing and a handle in coral 'Corallium rubrum'. The mirror comes with a Chaumet box and is offered with an estimate of €2,000-4,000.

• A pair of Chaumet malachite and lapis lazuli earclips, circa 1970. The stylised foliage motif, set with malachite and lapis lazuli plaques are mounted in textured yellow gold. Offered with an estimate of €5,000-7,000.

• A Chaumet Malachite and lapis lazuli ring, circa 1970. The malachite and lapis lazuli plaques are mounted in a textured yellow gold. The ring is offered with an estimate of €5,000-7,000.

• A Chaumet malachite and lapis lazuli clip brooch, circa 1970. The stylised foliage motif, set with malachite and lapis lazuli plaques, mounted in textured yellow gold is offered with an estimate of €5,000-7,000.

Other notable Paris Jewels highlights include:

• A pair of Graff natural, fancy yellow diamond and diamond pendant earrings. Each set with brilliant-cut diamonds, suspending fancy yellow diamonds, one weighing 3.08 carats and the other 3.03 carats, both of VVS2 clarity. Offered with an estimate of €70,000-90,000.

• A sapphire and diamond ring, claw-set to the centre with a cushion shaped blue sapphire, of Sri-Lankan origin, weighing 21.03 carats the mount is set throughout by step- and brilliant-cut diamond, Offered with an estimate of €50,000-80,000.

• A diamond necklace, circa 1840. The link chain is designed as a stylised bow, suspending two briolette-cut diamonds. Offered with an estimate of €50,000-70,000.

• An emerald and diamond bracelet. Set with nine step-cut octagonal shaped emeralds links of Colombian origin, set between duos of baguette-cut diamonds. Offered with an estimate of €24,000-28,000.

• A Boucheron sapphire and diamond ring. The sapphire cabochon of Burma origin, weighing 11.87 carats, is set within a baguette- and brilliant-cut diamond surround. Offered with an estimate of €20,000-30,000.
