Christie’s returns for a second year with Beyond the Screen, a digital art auction open online for bidding from 29 May to 10 June on christies.com. The sale offers a cross-section of digital artworks from sought-after artists in the space, with an emphasis on physical works of art.

With more than 20 lots on offer, the sale frames each work through the larger context of the 21st century and the contemporary art world, inviting both digitally native and traditional collectors to engage.

Highlights include examples by emerging artists such as Summer Wagner and Grant Yun, alongside established pioneers in the field. The leading highlight is Untitled (i23-3484), a 1970 work on paper by Harold Cohen, the digital artist and creator of AARON, a program designed to produce original artistic images autonomously.

Nicole Sales Giles, VP, Director, Digital Art Sales, said the sale reflects a growing shift in contemporary art, with artists increasingly using digital technology to create physical, tangible works, and noted that the works show how artists are pushing the boundaries of digital media and how audiences connect with these pieces in a direct, tactile way.
