Paris - Bonhams Cornette de Saint Cyr presents Chanel: A Private Collection on 19 February 2026, a sale dedicated exclusively to the world of Chanel. The live auction features a wardrobe curated between 1995 and 2023, celebrating the maison's rich heritage and enduring style. Comprising 367 lots assembled over two decades, the collection spans all seasons and highlights creations by creative directors Karl Lagerfeld and Virginie Viard.
Founded by Gabrielle "Coco" Chanel in 1910, the French luxury maison has maintained its iconic status through an unwavering commitment to timeless elegance and exceptional craftsmanship. The brand's enduring appeal lies in its ability to balance a rich heritage with modern innovation, creating collections that resonate across generations. This single-owner collection offers an exceptional selection of Chanel pieces, thoughtfully organized by season, and includes 130 jackets, dresses and coats; 80 pieces of costume jewelry; 70 jackets, cardigans, jumpers and cashmere coats; as well as a curated selection of Première Mini watches, Ultra rings, handbags, ballet flats and sandals.
A notable lot is a Chanel Ready-to-Wear piece from the Cruise 2005 collection, created under the artistic direction of Karl Lagerfeld. The long black tweed coat, adorned with a gold CC patch, is reminiscent of the style worn by Anne Hathaway in her role as Andrea Sachs in The Devil Wears Prada. The lot is offered with an estimate of €1,500 to 2,000.
Hubert Felbacq, Director of the Fashion and Accessories department at Bonhams Cornette de Saint Cyr in Paris, commented: "Chanel: A Private Collection represents the ultimate Parisian wardrobe, offering an intimate glimpse into one woman's dressing room, meticulously organized by season, type and color since 1995. Spanning collections from 1995 to 2023, the ensemble brings together designs created under the creative direction of Karl Lagerfeld and Virginie Viard. Such a comprehensive single-owner collection is a rarity to appear at auction. Assembled with an exceptional eye and a genuine joy for design, the collection has been cherished for decades.
