Bonhams Showcases Rare and Exceptional Jewelry at Forthcoming New York Jewels Sale

New York – Bonhams presents the much-anticipated New York Jewels sale on June 12, 2025. The 126-lot live sale features an abundance of fancy-colored diamonds and vibrant gemstones from emeralds, sapphires and rubies set in spectacular signed pieces from names including Bulgari, Cartier, David Webb, Graff, Harry Winston, JAR, Oscar Heyman, Taffin, Tiffany & Co., Van Cleef & Arpels, and Verdura. The auction also showcases exceptional and rare period signed jewels by Boucheron and René Boivin.

Leading the sale is a Fancy Light Blue diamond ring weighing 14.52 carats, set within a surround of round brilliant-cut diamonds and diamonds with a pink tint. The jewel is offered with an estimate of US$2,000,000-3,000,000.

Also of note is an important Boucheron Art Nouveau enamel, sapphire and diamond 'Juno' pendant, circa 1900. Exhibited at the Paris, Exposition Universelle in 1900, the design features a female form of carved white jadeite depicting the goddess Juno, the queen of the gods, goddess of marriage, and protector of women and the family. Her hair is of textured gold and crowned with blue, green, and purple enamel, accented by old European-cut diamonds and gold beads. Her dress of purple enamel is set with a cushion shaped yellow sapphire framed by old European-cut diamonds; flanked on either side by ornate peacocks applied with blue, green, and purple enamel with diamond accents. The green and blue enamel peacock feathers support a detachable pendant set with apearshaped yellow sapphire framed by old mine-cut diamonds. The pendant is signed FIC Boucheron for Frédéric Boucheron, Paris and has an estimated sapphire weight of 20.30 carats. This rare pendant is offered with an estimate of US$200,000-300,000.

The highlights include a heart-shaped Fancy Light Blue diamond ring weighing 14.52 carats and arare René Boivin colored diamond orchid brooch, as well as pieces by Suzanne Belperron and Taffin. The standout piece is a Boucheron Art Nouveau pendant that was originally presented in the Paris Exposition Universelle in 1900. The jewel epitomizes the Art Nouveau movement with its flowing, organic lines inspired by nature. The elaborate enamelwork and unique gemstone settings underscore the craftsmanship and artistry, creating a sense of fantasy and romance. It is a rarity for a museum quality jewel like this to come to market, and it will undoubtably appeal to jewelry and Art Nouveau connoisseurs and collectors across the globe."

Another sale highlight is a René Boivin colored diamond and diamond orchid brooch, circa 1937, presented at the Paris at the Exposition Universelle in 1937. Designed as an orchid, the petals set throughout with round brilliant and old European-cut diamonds, further enhanced by round brilliant, old European and single-cut diamonds of yellow tint. The brooch has an estimated total diamond weight of 20.00- 25.00 carats and estimated total colored diamond weight of 15.30 carats. Offered with an estimate of US$150,000-200,000.

Other New York Jewels highlights include:

• A spinel emerald, diamond and cultured pearl pendant. Centering a rectangular-cut spinel of Sri Lankan origin, weighing 50.63 carats, set within a within a frame of round brilliant, baguette and tapered baguette-cut diamonds, suspending two round pearls and one briolette-cut emerald weighing 7.80 carats. Offered with an estimate of US$300,000-500,000.

• A Fancy Yellow diamond and diamond ring, centering a cushion-shaped Fancy Yellow diamond of VS1 clarity, weighing 16.76 carats, flanked by two bullet-shaped diamonds. Offered with an estimate of US$170,000-270,000.

• A pair of Taffin diamond earclips. Each centering a square emerald-cut diamond, one weighing 5.16 carats and the other weighing 5.04 carats. Offered with an estimate of US$160,000-240,000.

• A Kashmir sapphire and diamond ring, centering a cushion-shaped sapphire of Kashmir origin, weighing 4.32 carats, enhanced by pavé-set round brilliant-cut diamonds. The ring is offered with an estimate of US$100,000-150,000.

• A Fancy intense green diamond ring, centering an oval-shaped Fancy intense natural green diamond, weighing 2.11 carats. Offered with an estimate of US$100,000-150,000.

• A Verdura ruby and diamond necklace. Designed as a series of graduated scrolls set throughout with round brilliant-cut diamonds and circular rubies, and enhanced with variously shaped cabochon rubies, to a ruby clasp. Offered with an estimate of US$80,000-120,000.

• A Suzanne Belperron sapphire and diamond necklace, France . Composed of graduated cabochon sapphires suspending seven oval-shaped cabochon sapphires at the front, with old European-cut diamond accents. Estimated total sapphire weight of 270.00-290.00 carats. Offered with an estimate of US$70,000-90,000.
