New York, 25 April 2025 - Phillips has announced a partnership with The Malcolm Jenkins Foundation (TMJF), benefitting the eponymous non-profit organization founded by the two-time Super Bowl champion and three-time Pro Bowl safety Malcolm Jenkins. On 14 May, Phillips New York's Day Sale of Modern and Contemporary Art will feature artworks donated directly by artists including Tavares Strachan, Adrian Armstrong, Yoyo Lander, Hebru Brantley, Dominic Chambers, and Anthony Akinbola, with proceeds supporting the foundation's mission to create positive change in the lives of youth, particularly those in underserved communities. The collaboration marks the first time the auction house has organized a Modern and Contemporary Art auction in partnership with a professional athlete.
The sale follows an event hosted by Jenkins this past February in tandem with Super Bowl LIX, with support from the NFLPA (National Football League Players Association) and the PAF (Professional Athletes Foundation). In New Orleans, Phillips, Jenkins, and TMJF joined forces to host a panel discussion on collecting fine art, watches, and jewels, while showcasing works from artists brought in for the Super Bowl festivities.
Malcolm Jenkins, the Founder and Chairman of The Malcolm Jenkins Foundation and CEO of Malcolm Inc., described the project as "the convergence of culture, community, and purpose." Reflecting on The Game of Art and the Phillips auction, he added, "I'm honored to have the support of these contemporary artists and Phillips." Ferguson Amo, Associate, Modern and Contemporary Art at Phillips, called it "an honor to work with a multi-hyphenate such as Malcolm and The Malcolm Jenkins Foundation in raising funds and awareness for such a worthy cause," noting that Jenkins "has used his influence to promote positive change, creating innovative programs and opportunities for the youth in the communities his foundation serves." He extended his gratitude to "all the artists who have graciously donated works of art to this endeavor."
