Christie’s single-owner sale Ravishing Blue: Imperial Porcelains From An Important Private Collection, held in Hong Kong on 2 May 2025, was 100 percent sold and achieved a total of HK$162,613,000 (US$21,067,132), exceeding the low estimate by 110 percent. The sale brought together three rare masterpieces from the Yongle, Yongzheng and Qianlong reigns, and the result reflected continued demand for important Ming and Qing ceramics with strong provenance.

A fine and very rare blue and white ‘bamboo, rock and plantain’ vase, meiping, of the Yongle period (1403-1425) led the sale, realising HK$78,125,000 (US$10,121,391), more than 1.5 times the low estimate.

A fine and extremely rare large blue and white ‘dragon’ vase, tianqiuping, bearing a Yongzheng six-character mark in underglaze blue and of the period (1723-1735), achieved HK$74,675,000 (US$9,674,430).

The sale traced the evolution of blue-and-white porcelain over four centuries, highlighting the craftsmanship and artistic achievement of Ming and Qing imperial wares.
