Christie’s will offer Stories in Time: A Collection of Exceptional Watches, a single-owner collection assembled by a private collector over 30 years. The collection comprises 160 contemporary timepieces from 47 brands and independent watchmakers, including Greubel Forsey (9 watches), De Bethune (18), Gerald Genta (3), Voutilainen (2) and Ferdinand Berthoud (2).

The collection will be offered across Christie’s four major watch auction locations, Hong Kong, Dubai, Geneva and New York, in eight live and online sales through the spring and autumn of 2025. Its strong representation of independent watchmakers reflects the collector’s interest in the mechanical craftsmanship and the philosophies behind each piece.

Most of the watches are offered in pristine condition with their original boxes and paperwork. Alongside the independents, the collection includes pieces from Swiss houses such as Patek Philippe, Jaeger-Le Coultre, Vacheron Constantin and Ulysse Nardin.

The sales are staggered by location and part. Hong Kong opens with an online sale of 26 watches (14 to 28 April 2025), followed by Dubai online with 45 watches (22 April to 1 May). Geneva presents a live sale of 28 watches on 12 May and an online sale of 18 watches (13 to 21 May). Hong Kong returns with a live sale of 22 watches on 26 May, and New York offers 8 watches live on 10 June alongside an online sale of 11 watches (29 May to 11 June). A final live sale of 2 watches takes place in Hong Kong on 26 November 2025.
