INTRO

Good morning. It's Thursday, June the fourth. I'm Sharon, and

this is Auto Market from ALT/FNDATA — a weekly look at the

collector car, motorcycle, and aircraft auction markets.

This is our inaugural episode.

RM SOTHEBY'S TEGERNSEE — CONSIGNMENT ANNOUNCED

RM Sotheby's has published the consignment for its Tegernsee

auction on July 4th at Gut Kaltenbrunn on Lake Tegernsee in

the Bavarian Alps. The sale is held in partnership with the

Concours of Elegance Germany.

The headline lot is a 2009 Ferrari 599XX Evo, estimated at

EUR 2 million to EUR 2.5 million. The 599XX is a track-only

variant of the 599 GTB with limited production numbers, and

it is rarely offered at public auction.

A 2023 Ferrari 812 Competizione is estimated at EUR 1.25

million to EUR 1.5 million. A 2004 Porsche Carrera GT is

estimated at EUR 1.2 million to EUR 1.6 million. A 1960

Porsche 356 B Carrera 1600 GS/GT Coupe by Reutter is

estimated at EUR 470,000 to EUR 570,000. A 1971 Mercedes-Benz

280 SE 3.5 Cabriolet is estimated at EUR 300,000 to EUR

400,000. And a 2006 Mercedes-Benz CLK DTM AMG Cabriolet has

also been consigned.

The consignment falls into two categories: modern Ferrari

and German collector cars. In the secondary market, these two

categories are moving in opposite directions. Ferrari values

have held or appreciated. German marques — with the exception

of Porsche — have softened.

BONHAMS NATIONAL AUTOMOBILE MUSEUM — JUNE 13

Bonhams will auction nearly 100 cars from the National

Automobile Museum in Reno, Nevada, on June 13th. The museum

is clearing space for new arrivals, and many lots will be

offered without reserve.

BLUE CHIP VS NEW CHIP

Hagerty has published a market analysis comparing traditional

blue-chip collector cars to what they describe as "new chip"

equivalents.

Blue-chip collector cars include air-cooled Porsche 911s,

Ferrari Daytonas, and Mercedes 300SLs. New-chip collector

cars include the Porsche 992 GT3, the BMW M3 CS, and other

limited-run models that are trading above their original

retail prices within months of delivery.

The 812 Competizione in the Tegernsee consignment is an

example. It is a 2023 model, and it is estimated at EUR 1.25

million to EUR 1.5 million — above its original retail price

within three years of production.

FERRARI — PRODUCTION AND PRICING

Ferrari reported Q1 2026 deliveries of 3,436 units, down

4.4% year over year. The company has described this as a

deliberate production slowdown ahead of new model transitions.

Ferrari reported a 29.5% operating margin in 2025, the highest

among publicly traded automakers. Full-year 2026 revenue

guidance has been reaffirmed at approximately EUR 7.5 billion.

BMW M2 XDRIVE — 2027 MODEL YEAR

BMW has announced that the M2 will gain xDrive all-wheel

drive for the 2027 model year. All-wheel drive has now been

added across the M5, M3, and M2 lineups. Previous generations

of M cars that added AWD options have seen their rear-wheel-

drive variants trade at a premium in the secondary market.

MOTORCYCLES — BONHAMS SUMMER SALE LIVE NOW

Bonhams Motorcycles Online Summer Sale is live. Bidding

opened yesterday, June the 5th, and runs through June the

15th. The sale features over 300 lots spanning more than a

century of motorcycling history, including veteran motorcycles,

British classics, Italian exotica, competition machines, and

memorabilia. More than 250 lots are offered without reserve.

For context, the Mecum Motorcycle Auction in Las Vegas in

January set the benchmark for 2026. That sale moved over 1,800

motorcycles for $20 million in total sales with a 92%

sell-through rate, including eight individual auction records.

Earlier this year, Bonhams sold a former Grand Prix MV Agusta

for over $1 million — one of six Grand Prix racers among the

top results at that sale.

AIRCRAFT

In the collector aircraft market, the primary transaction

channel remains private dealer sales rather than public auction.

Platinum Fighter Sales, one of the leading warbird brokers, has

active listings across fighters, trainers, bombers, transport

aircraft, and helicopters. Our aircraft data at ALT/FNDATA

covers auction results when they occur, and we will report on

significant private sales as they are disclosed.

RECENT AUCTION DATA

The Market by Bonhams cleared the following lots last week:

a 2009 Ferrari California at roughly $34,000, a 2018 Jaguar

F-Type at just under $20,000, and a 1991 Porsche 944 Turbo

at around $8,000.

The Tegernsee consignment starts at EUR 300,000. The Bonhams

Reno sale on June 13th will offer cars across a broader

price range.

EQUITY SNAPSHOT

BMW, Mercedes-Benz, and Porsche are all testing technical

support levels. Ferrari posted a 29.5% operating margin in

2025 on revenue of EUR 7.1 billion.

WEEK AHEAD

Bonhams Motorcycles Online Summer Sale closes June 15th —

Automobile Museum is on June 13th in Reno. RM Sotheby's

Tegernsee is on July 4th.
