Connect Perplexity in four steps

You need an ALT/FNDATA API key to sign in. The connector is hosted, so there is nothing to install.

    Get your ALT/FNDATA API key

    Open the app at API Key & MCP, go to API Key & MCP, and copy your key. The connector runs on this key.

    Open Connectors

    In Perplexity, open Settings → Connectors and choose + Custom connector, then Remote.

    Add the hosted connector

    Enter the connector URL https://mcp.altfndata.com/mcp and choose OAuth.

  4. 4

    Sign in and confirm

    Sign in with your ALT/FNDATA API key, then ask Perplexity an auction-price question.

Which Perplexity plans support custom connectors?
Remote custom connectors are offered on Perplexity Pro, Max and Enterprise. The connector URL and OAuth sign-in are the same on each.
Do I need a paid plan to use the connector?
Yes. The connector runs on your ALT/FNDATA API key. Get your key in the app at API Key & MCP, choose OAuth when you connect, and sign in with it.
Can the connector change or delete my data?
No. All nine tools are read-only. The connector queries auction data and returns it; it never writes, edits or deletes anything.
What data does it cover?
Realized auction prices across 20 collectible categories, from watches and jewelry to fine art, wine and classic cars, drawn from 100+ auction houses worldwide and normalized to USD.
Are these realized prices or asking prices?
Realized. Every figure is what an item actually sold for at auction, normalized to USD. Unsold lots are tracked separately, and every result links back to its source.
The menu names in my app look different. What do I do?
Assistants rename and move these settings as they roll features out. The connector URL (https://mcp.altfndata.com/mcp) and the OAuth sign-in stay the same; check the assistant's help pages if a step reads differently.
