Global participation from 50 countries led to spirited bidding around the star lots of the sale, for both blue-chip and emerging names alike. The Morning Session, focused on works from the 20th century, was led by Keith Haring’s large-scale 1984 diptych and Andy Warhol's rare Ultraviolet painting, Double Torso, which sold for $698,500 and $584,200, respectively. We were thrilled to continue our success from last night's sale with female artists working across centuries, from Suzanne Valadon's 1910 work Adam et Ève and Joan Snyder's 2020 OH Elena, both selling for more than double their low estimates, to robust global bidding for Firelei Báez's Untitled at the start of the Afternoon Session. The Afternoon Session was led by Nicole Eisenman’s Team Shredder, which sold for $546,100, followed by strong results for Carol Bove, whose Snake sold for $444,500, the highest auction result for the artist in the past three years. Superb results were achieved for multiple artists in the 21st century category, where Phillips excels. Spirited bidding pushed works by Poppy Jones, Yu Nishimura, Soumya Netrabile, and Lucas Arruda well above their low estimates.
